Here at the Alliance, we just had our debrief session for the National Conference on Ending Homelessness and the Annual Awards Ceremony.

As the staff member in charge of communications, social networks, and website, I always come back to online communications and communications strategy. This year, I suggested that we put all the information we have about the conference – workshop descriptions, speakers, keynotes – online as soon as possible, that we collect conference presentations before the conference ends, that workshop tracks and identified and marked in the program journal.

Other staff members had important feedback too. My colleagues insisted that we have internet access available to all attendees, we incorporate more hands-on, nuts and bolts workshops in addition to the ones about practice and policy, we give speakers clearer and firmer guidelines on workshop content, and that we encourage more discussion during sessions.

But now that we’ve had our time, we’d like to hear from you.

  • What did you take away from the conference?
  • What was your favorite workshop? Your least favorite workshop?
  • How might workshop sessions be improved? More time for discussion? More interactive?
  • Did you attend the Awards Ceremony? Why or why not?

I’m hoping that you all take the time to fill out the online survey distributed today but if you don’t, please do take just a minute to offer your two cents here in the comments section or on the Facebook page.

We put this event together every year to build and foster a community of people dedicated to ending homelessness – and we couldn’t do it without you. Please help us improve our conference!
